Tip 1 - 2:00 Redcar - Marry The Night

This step up to six furlongs looks exactly what Marry The Night has been crying out for after his first two runs. Both of those runs were over the minimum distance, and he didn’t quite have the pace to challenge the leaders, but did make some nice progress late on. Dolce Vitta also showed some promise on debut, but we will take a chance the step up in trip isn’t exactly what she wants.

Tip 2 - 2:43 Newton Abbott - Danton

The majority of this field carries a question mark, with many of them running consistently well without winning recently or being very in and out. Harry Fry’s Danton is the pick on his chase debut. He ran five times last season, placing twice and winning once. He pulled up on heavy ground on his other two runs, which suggests that today’s quicker ground will suit nicely. He could improve any mount for the switch to larger obstacles, but he mightn’t need to in order to take this.

Tip 3 - 4:00 Redcar - Ron O

On the face of it, choosing a winner of two turf races from 17 runnings isn’t necessarily a slam dunk. However, a closer look at Ron O’s credentials show he should be right in amongst it in this race. He has three races over course and distance, with both career wins coming here and on the good to firm ground we will see today. He won off just two pounds lighter on the all-weather in November so should still be fairly well treated to go well in conditions he relishes.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?

We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.

A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time. 

For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
