It’s a bucket list moment for young collegians entering the NFL. The NFL Draft Green Room, where players wait for their name to be called by Commissioner Roger Goodell, so they can shake his hand on the state with the nation watching.

But some waits will be longer than others. Some have been quite notable – in 2005, Aaron Rodgers hoped to go as high as No. 2, and fell to No. 24. That worked out very well for QB12 and the Packers.

Who might face a similar experience at the 2024 NFL Draft? Bookies.com veteran oddsmaker Adam Thompson breaks down the group of confirmed 13 players hoping to hear their names called on draft night.

The Field includes the presumptive first four picks of the NFL Draft, none of which should drop out of the Top 5. That includes Marvin Harrison Jr., WR, Ohio St., Drake Maye, QB, North Carolina, Jayden Daniels, QB, LSU, and Caleb Williams, QB, USC.

LSU WR Malik Nabers, Alabama edge Dallas Turner, and Washington WR Romeo Odunze are nearly as unlikely – all should be Top 10 selections, or on the cusp of it. Alabama OT J.C. Latham should go in the top 15 as one of the premier edge blockers in the draft.

Then it gets more interesting. There are two cornerbacks here: Quinyon Mitchell of Toledo and Terrion Arnold of Alabama. Most reports have them as the top two CBs in the draft, but opinions vary as to which is the top choice. Whichever doesn’t get chosen first, could get chosen 10 picks later, or more.

LSU receiver Brian Thomas Jr. has been pegged as high as No. 15 to the Indianapolis Colts, but also as low as No. 32 overall to the Kansas City Chiefs. That’s a wide swath.

Then there’s two edge rushers sweating it out. UCLA’s Laiatu Latu is considered a near-lock to not fall past No. 19 to the Los Angeles Rams. But Missouri’s Darius Robinson has no such luxury. He isn’t likely to go in the Top 20 at all, and many reputable mock drafts don’t have him going in the first round at all.
